Disinfectant & Sanitiser
A sanitiser is any product that is said to be a germ killer. Efficacy ranges between killing 0 and 99,89% of germs. Sanitizers are not required to adhere to any regulations under SABS nor do they require testing, they are unregulated.
A disinfectant is any product that is legally proven to have a microbial kill rate of >log5 which equates to 100,000x reduction in cell counts. This is essentially from 99.900% up to 99.999% effective. Unlike sanitizers, disinfectants must adhere to stringent testing and manufacturers auditing standards, and are required by law to be registered, in order to place the word “disinfectant” on the label.
A steriliser is any product that is legally proven to have a 100% microbial effectivity. These products are typically used in surgical environments and are legally registered and frequently audited by local and international governments and independent labs. In some instances, these products can be harmful to humans and required evacuation times, but with F10 this is not necessary given its tested and proven safety.
Research who makes it and verify their claims with the appropriate documentation: What standards have been achieved? How long has the standards track record been maintained? What level of production quality guarantee is in place?
